Holiday Activities

Hi Everyone,

Just stopping by to say hi, hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season so far. I know I have been enjoying it minus the freezing cold winds. Wish we luck, tomorrow I am getting my wisdom teeth pulled :( hopefully it wont be too bad and ill be good at new in a few days.

Just wanted to share some images with everyone. The first picture is from a trip to Graceland I took when I was in Memphis this Thanksgiving. Its a purple Cadillac that belonged to Elvis.

The other picture is a homemade ice cream sundae from one of my favorite restaurants called the Fish Market, it's located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.  Not only do they have some of the best seafood around town but they make homemade ice cream and whip cream!! sooo amazing :)

Ill be posting more pictures of Christmas decorating, Colonial Williamsburg, and holiday cooking soon!!

The Count Down to Christmas Begins!!

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your friends and family, I certainly did. I was down in Tennessee visiting my family and we did so many wonderful things.

But now its crunch time, last week of classes, final papers, presentations, and final exams. It's so stressful and I barely have time to call my mom. I am done with one of my classes, my advanced Public Relations, we had a final presentation last night to our client and they enjoyed it so much that they asked us to present it to their executive board next week. I was so glad they loved it, we worked very hard on it.  Plus its a good resume booster! :)

I cant wait till this weekend though, my mom, my mom's sisters, and I are going to Colonial Williamsburg for the Grand Illumination. Its always a fun time and great way to get in the spirit of the holidays.

Hope everyone is having a great time spending time with their families this holiday season and drinking lots of hot coco!! :)

Thanksgiving

Good Evening Everyone,

It has been a crazy week, with school, holiday projects, shopping, and tons of cooking I barely find time to even check my email. The holidays are such a special time of year, you just need to take them one step at a time and you will be fine. Remember its a time to create lasting memories with your family, don't be a slave to the kitchen.

Since I have been home from school, My mom and I have been getting ready for our trip to Memphis to visit my Aunt Sharon!! We are so excited, we have so many things planned to do down there. Some include visiting Graceland, cook an amazing Thanksgiving dinner(which I will post pictures of in a later post), go antique shopping, and check out some of Food Network's Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives while were in town.

I find myself relaxing now and getting ready for the new week. My mom has a formal living room (which is not in many houses these days) and I find that it is a very relaxing room in our home. No one is ever in here and its a great place to have a cup of coffee and just relax.

We collect Jay Strongwater ornaments and this is a picture of the ones for Fall. Enjoy!!

Hope everyone has an amazing week and enjoys there Thanksgiving with all your family and friends!!!

Its Official its Holiday Season!!!!

Hello Everyone!!!!

Well its official, its holiday season!! Michaels and AC Moore are packed with fellow artists and employees restocking the shelves already. I could barely make it through the parking lot, with my Starbucks coffee of course. But after finally finding a spot, I managed to make it inside.

The holiday season is my favorite time of year!!!! Snow, hot chocolate, decorating the tree (or in my case 2 or 3 trees), family, giving back to those less fortunate,  and being thankful for all that we have in our lives.

Below is a picture of a few items that I picked up today, for a very special gift I am making for my mom for Christmas. Just something to show her how much I love her and to reminisce on all the wonderful times we have had together!! Love you mom :)

Have a wonderful weekend.
Lots of Love,
Athena

Welcome!!

Hello World,

This is my first blog post!!! Congratulations to me on finally moving forward with technology and blogging about my life. I really have to credit the making of my blog to my Aunt Sharon. Her passion for vintage art and creations really made me realize I wanted to connect with others who share my passions as well.

In the blog world I hope to connect with others who have passions for similar interests as me. They include, cooking, traveling, collecting vintage items, and creating beautiful pieces of art.

Lots of Love,
Athena
